Would you like to welcome the very first sunrise of the year at Cape Chinen?
In Japan, it has long been believed that the Toshigami—the deity who brings prosperity and happiness—arrives with the first sunrise of the New Year. Watching the first sunrise is a cherished tradition, symbolizing prayers for abundance, peace, and good fortune throughout the year.
After quietly greeting the sunrise at a cape overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, we will enjoy carefully hand-dripped coffee by the seaside. We then continue to Oujima Island, where you will encounter over 700 years of maritime culture and daily life traditions. To conclude the journey, savor Okinawa’s beloved local tempura—an essential comfort food cherished by island residents.
This special journey allows you to experience the continuity of Okinawan life, from past to present, all in one meaningful ride.
