On this immersive tour, we pedal through layers of time to discover the enduring culture and craftsmanship defining the capital today.
Our journey begins in Yanagibashi, a beautifully hidden enclave once cherished by geisha and legendary writers. From there, we follow historic waterways that seamlessly bridge ancient tradition with modern energy. You will ride through the atmospheric backstreets of Tsukiji, discover the nostalgic, old-world charm of Tsukishima, and feel the powerful spirit of Bushido and sumo heritage in Ryogoku.
To explore this rich history, you will be riding our expertly restored e-bikes. Lovingly revived by our mechanics to reflect the very craftsmanship we study on the tour, these bikes offer an incredibly smooth, effortless, and mindful way to discover the city's hidden gems.

- 00:00First, we’ll explore the exclusive Geisha enclave of Yanagibashi. Unlike the bustling pleasure districts, this area was a sanctuary for 'Iki'—the sophisticated, high-class Geisha culture of Edo. We’ll cycle toward the Sumida River, the historic water gateway that once welcomed poets and aristocrats to this elegant riverside world.
- Ride along the Sumida riverside and discover the hidden entrance to Old Edo. Pedal through local neighborhoods, passing small parks and apartments to see Tokyo’s everyday scenery. Experience the authentic pace of life away from the typical tourist crowds. Visit this National Important Cultural Property to see its unique architecture—an exotic fusion where Indian-inspired stone exteriors meet traditional Japanese Buddhist interiors.
- A must-visit for Tokyo experts, honoring the legacy of Edo-period fish markets. As the heart of the city's food culture, it’s where professionals still seek the finest seasonal ingredients. Experience the authentic local energy and living history of the world's most famous food district.
- Discover the origins of Monjayaki on this historic street, where a humble 19th-century children's snack evolved into Tokyo's most beloved soul food.
- Hidden Jizo Shrines in the Alleys: These hidden shrines offer a glimpse into the spiritual heart of the neighborhood, far off the beaten tourist path. A perfect spot to capture the nostalgic, old-world charm of Tokyo.
- Leaving the historic alleys of Tsukuda behind, we head to Ryogoku, the true 'Mecca' of Sumo. Here, we skip the modern stadium to visit Eko-in Temple, the sacred birthplace where Sumo was held for centuries. You’ll also hear the powerful story of the Great Fire of 1657 and how this district rose from the ashes to become the spiritual heart of Edo."
- Finally, we cycle back to our starting point in Yanagibashi. As you return to this elegant riverside district, once known as the 'Flower Town' of geisha culture, you’ll feel a deep connection to the timeless spirit of Tokyo that we explored together.

- Access: A 1-minute walk from Asakusa-bashi rail station.
- **To ensure a safe and enjoyable tour for all participants, a 5 to 10-minute safety briefing will be conducted prior to departure.

●Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes suitable for cycling. (Sandals and high heels are dangerous for riding.) ●Please bring an extra layer of clothing (such as a jacket) to adjust for the weather and season. ●Please bring your own drinks. ●In case of rainy weather and cycling is not possible, the tour will be changed to a walking tour. In that case, the itinerary will be switched to a route specifically designed for the walking tour. ●Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to reschedule.
Important Notice Regarding Alcohol Consumption
Cycling under the influence of alcohol is illegal in Japan. If you have consumed alcohol before the tour or are still under the effects of alcohol, you will not be allowed to participate. Please be aware that if you must cancel on the day of the tour due to alcohol consumption, a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
